Gotye… The Hipster Alanis Morissette

The first time I heard this song, it seemed very Alanis to me. …Well Jagged Little Pill era.

It’s been a long time

I shouldn’t of left you. With out a dope beat to step to. Step to.

What about us?

Ummm, Grammy’s I am one of the 2 or 3 people that did not see Avatar, so conveniently I don’t have a pair of 3D glasses laying around. So that whole Earth Song thing just made me feel like i was losing it.  What was the point?

Thanks,

Elizabeth

Fierce Eye Stares

Beyonce totally brought it with If I were a Boy mixing in Alanis’s You Oughta Know. Totally ROCKED. I though it was going to be hard to compete with Gaga…but B was hot. And can we just talk about the fierce in her face when she does the dramatic pause- eye stares!! I mean, fierce-cut-a-bitch looks….LOVE.

I also thought Green day was good with the 21 Guns and Broadway cast. Doesn’t compete with the girls though.

Zac Brown Band won Best new artist! I remember them playing the hobo bars in Milledgeville! Such nice guys.

OMG……is GaGa

Loved the first performance with GaGa and Elton. Of course that queen Elton is a lil Monster. He was even down with putting shit all over his face like Gaga. I mean you know he has to like a bitch to put jizz black stuff all over his face. He was even rocking the GaGa earing.

She looked so excited to have him there and he was totally into it.

That is going to be hard to beat. I felt like I was at her show!!

Grammy Red Carpet

“Pant’s on the Ground” General Larry Plat on the Grammy’s. Officially not funny any more!

Are we laughing at him or with him? He is walking down the red Carpet singing the song.

Meanwhile Kathy Griffin is at the real GRAMMY’s. Love her. She just told E to suck in the E interview. HA.

Congratulations to Tareq and Michaele Salahi

What about the Secret Service? So Tareq and Michaele Salahi crashed the White House party. I say congrats! If you can pull that off more power to you. Someone on the inside obviously put their names on a list. Why isn’t the Secret Service in the news. They are pointing their finger loud and proud at Tareq and Michaele so it takes longer to blame them.

JES-US!

I think that it is pretty amazing they got in, took pics, got out without getting caught. Now they are getting paid! I need their tips on party crashing. I can only hope and dream of crashing a party of this magnitude!

I mean come on…the blame should be on the security. HELLO!!!

Bono TRIES to Rap

U2 and Jay Z together!??

Who thought that this was a good idea? It’s like Bono was sitting there and said “we are the biggest and best rockers in the universe, lets’ get Jay Z to rap with us.” And I’m sure they promised Jay to name several orphanages in Africa after him and 10 mil.

Don’t get me wrong I love the combo of rap + rock…but U2, not so much. Ok, I am being a lil harsh. Maybe it’s because I really dislike U2 and love Jay. BUT Bono raps.. WTF!

I will say, it’s not like I want to reach out and cut someone until Bono starts to rap at the end (PS: he reads from a teleprompter). I also love how Jay has a smirk like he is laughing on the inside at B. You know when someone is ridiculous and you feel a little embarrassed for them….it’s that look.

What do you think?

You can see really good footage of the show here, and Bono reading his rap of the teleprompter.

Just let it Simmer

“Just let it simmer”, is what Michael would say when he wanted a dramatic pause for applause.

So I have come out of the wood work because I just saw the new Michael Jackson movie, ‘THis is It”.

Over all I thought it was really cool. It’s the most I have ever seen Michael talk, and not just the standard interview answers. We got a glimpse of what he was really like. He is very demanding/perfectionist and a diva! Michael would always tell the person his way, and it was the understanding that it was his way and thats it!

“Just let it simmer”. He would always tell the musicians, so to slow down and let the audience got crazy.

The stage show was going to be amazing and he obviously still had the voice and the moves.

This Is It.jpg

While watching the movie I realized it was the most I had ever seen about MJ. Then as it went on it was sad and creepy all at the same time. Knowing that he was going to be a star again and now no one was going to see all this work that was being put into the show.

It was about 2 hours long, it totally could have been only 1hour and 1/2 and been perfect. I would recommend this film to anybody interested in: MJ , music, the process of putting together such a performance  or just go to see an icon in action!

For those 2 hours I set there and felt like I was watching ‘Michael Jackson’. Not the ‘weird’ freak-o-mongler from the media, but the icon and the legend that is MJ. I hope more people feel this way about him after seeing it.

Who Cares?

The next American Idol no one will care about in 2 months/ dropped from the record label b/c lack of sales/ends up doing Zaxby’s commercials is…….Kris Allen!……who….I don’t CARE!

I watched the last 5 min, when the final 2 sang with Queen and Kris was crowend first loser of American Idol’s 22nd season. And thats all I needed to see.
